In 2010, Nissan became the first marque to offer a modern long-range production EV with the Nissan Leaf. For years, it enjoyed high sales in Japan and the US. However, as competition increased, the Leaf’s sales began to taper off. In an attempt to counteract this trend, Nissan invested in a Second Generation Leaf in 2017 and then the Nissan Leaf Plus in 2019. The former benefitted from a styling upgrade that made its homely exterior a little easier on the eyes. The latter retains the Second Gen’s superior look and adds to its performance.
